Pay Level $69,442 p/a - $72,586 p/a
(Depending on qualifications and experience)

Headspace is committed to providing young people with a path to better wellbeing well into their adult lives by creating safe places where they can access a range of services. As lead agency for headspace Capalaba, FSG Australia leads a strong like-minded group of partner organisations and community stake-holders in providing support for young people aged 12-25 who are experiencing difficulties in the areas of mental health, physical health, education and vocation and alcohol and other drug use.
Currently, we are seeking two experienced and youth-friendly headspace Intake Officers to join our growing team at Capalaba! The roles will advocate for young people and ensure the views of young people are embedded in the development and delivery of headspace services. The Intake Officers will work collaboratively with all staff located at headspace Capalaba to deliver youth-focused services.
An Intake Officer will:
- Have experience working as a Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Psychologist or Counsellor (desirable) OR be a suitably qualified individual with 3 or more years’ experience in Youth health / Mental health
- Conduct initial screening using the ‘headspace psychosocial assessments for young people’, and determining appropriate pathways and referrals
- Reduce barriers young people face in obtaining services
- Develop and maintain client records
- Establish linkages with key agencies in the community
- Attend Case Management meetings every morning to allocate young people to the preferred clinician or service
- Have excellent organisational and time management skills; and the ability to multi-task and manage competing demands
- Be able to interact with a wide and diverse consumer group in a pleasant, courteous and highly professional way
- Have strong client related interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to work with young people, internal and external stakeholders
